After everyone had dinner, Wan Kaiyi walked into the kitchen, “Duke, Emperor Yin is here.”

Quan Zexi subconsciously frowned, “What’s he doing here?!”

‘Wan Kaiyi said, “The Emperor says he wishes to discuss the division of the Xia guards with you.”

Quan Zexi paused, then said to He Wanging, “Did you not hear your daughter? Why aren’t you moving, go upstairs and wait!”

Mu Jinghang, “Then just don’t let him in.”

“Ican hide for the short-term but that’s not a long-term solution. Plus, that would make it seem like I’m scared of him.” Quan Zexi said,

Jun Yexuan shook his head, “He’s not my grandpa anymore. His life or death doesn’t concern me.”

Quan Zexi smiled and asked Wan Kaiyi to invite the man in.

‘Wan Kaiyi, “Yes, sir.”

Before long, Yin Lei came in with Di Lie and a group of his royal guards.

Quan Zexi grinned and greeted, “How fancy for you to visit. What can I do for you?”

Yin Lei played along, “Didn’t your butler tell you? I’m here to discuss how you’d like to divide up the army the Xia family has.”

Quan Zexi, “Where do you want to discuss? Here or the study?”

“It’s inconvenient here.” Yin Lei said, “Let’s talk in your study.”

“Might as well.” Quan Zexi nodded and turned to lead the way.

At that very moment, Yin Lei grabbed hold of the gun he hid in his sleeve and pointed it at Quan Zexi’s back.

Beside him, Di Lie raised his gun and pointed it at Qiao Qing.

Yin Lei noticed that his assassination plan had failed. Freaked out, he grabbed one of his guards over to shield the bullet. Then, he screamed, “Protect me!”

His royal guards instantly formed a wall between himself and Quan Zexi.

At the same time, 12 shadow-like figures surrounded Yin Lei.

Now protected, Yin Lei rediscovered his voice and confidence, “Kill them all! Kill Quan Zexi and that girl first!”

The 12 specially trained guards started to shoot towards Quan Zexi..
